Bio
I started dreaming about being a writer after listening to my grandfather spin tall tales about gigantic rats, ferocious sharks, and the man who caught a missile in his teeth. Growing up in a family where I was the second of five children, my craving for solitude cultivated an overactive imagination that got me into a lot of trouble. After hearing an audio recording of Poe’s “Cask of Amontillado” in my junior English class, I knew I wanted to write. When I finally took that creative writing class my senior year in college, I decided to become a fiction writer. I had no idea how difficult that was going to be, but I made the right choice.
Writing has given me a very broad perspective, an appreciation for diversity, sincere patience, and empathy. My work strives to express and share those gifts. And of course, it's a lot fun. When I'm not writing, I teach writing and English in Tucson, Arizona where I live with my lovely wife and two awesome young people that were once awesome little people.

BTW, my swirl logo is an ancient symbol used in many cultures. It represents everything from the cycle of life, birth, growth, death, to re-incarnation. For me it is the Taino (Native tribe endemic to Cuba and Puerto Rico) symbol for cosmic energy.
The life force that exists everywhere.
